THE REBIRTH OF THE SHEPHELAH IN EARLY IRON AGE IIA: A DOMESTIC COMPLEX AT TEL BURNA

This study investigates a domestic complex discovered in the Early Iron Age IIA stratum of Tel Burna in the southern Shephelah. The complex consists of a two-story structure with an adjacent courtyard, each fulfilling distinct domestic roles. Preserved within a destruction layer, this context revealed a substantial assemblage of architectural features and installations, ceramic vessels, botanical remains and tools. These findings provide significant insights into two primary areas: the household economy and daily life in Early Iron IIA, and the settlement dynamics of the Shephelah during a formative period of sociopolitical transformation.
