Reduction of cobalt(III) complexes by monovalent zinc, cadmium, and nickel ions in aqueous solutions

The specific rates of reaction of Zn⁺, Cd⁺, Ni⁺, and e_aq^- with a series of Co(III) complexes have been determined. The mechanisms of reduction and their dependence on the electronic structure of the monovalent cations are discussed.
