abstract = "In this paper we present the results of 3D EM simulations and experimental verification of the configurations of EM field generated by radiating aperture of RF-LINAC THz FEL designed in Ariel University. The study is based on the FEL radiation pattern obtained in preliminary simulations by space-frequency WB3D numerical code. A wide-band radiation consisting mainly of a few lowest rectangular waveguide modes (TE01, TE21 and TE23 modes were found to be the dominant) is predicted at the FEL output. The optimal position of the focusing lens providing the minimum size of a beam without splitting was determined. The results of experiments are in a good agreement with numerical simulations.",
