N2 - The form «Greek passage» in 1 Chronicles 15:13a has long baffled students of Chronicles, resulting in numerous interpretations and emendations of this form. The present article proposes that the form be understood in the light of Phoenician/Punic usage. This proposal allows for maintaining the consonantal text of MT, with no need for textual emendation, while at the same time, accounting for the rendering attested in LXXB. The article concludes with a brief discussion of the socio-linguistic circumstances surrounding the presence of a Phoenician-Punic linguistic feature in Chronicles.
