Lagos

With a projected population of 18.9 million residents for 2025, Lagos, Nigeria, is the largest urban agglomeration on the African continent. This primate coastal city is located in Western Africa, which is the second most rapidly urbanizing subregion in Africa. In light of the city's history in the precolonial, colonial, and postindependence eras and its present infrastructure crisis, current challenges and new perspectives in urban studies research are brought to the fore.
