תקציר
The paper presents the evolution of ‘Health and Victimology’ as a disciplinary research field. By monitoring a range of studies perceived as pertaining to this field, it aims to create a specific historiography, evolution and most of all a division into Generational Research Communities for this specific field. Three Generational Research Communities are identified, each unique in its epistemological and methodological ascriptions. A ‘community reading’ of each is proposed, by describing leading researchers and epistemic studies. The three communities are as follows: the ‘Health Abuse Victims Community’; the ‘Health Story Victim Community’ and the ‘Health Discourse Victims Community’. Finally, the paper reviews the Israeli Health and Victimology field, outlining the functioning of the various communities within it. Representative studies for each community within the Israeli field are presented to draw specific conclusions as to the Health Victimology discipline in Israel and the country’s unique health challenges reflected through its operation.
