N2 - This chapter is a reflective inquiry into the process of building partnership between academia and the community. It is based on an account of the Action Research Center (ARC), an attempt to build partnership between a college on Israel’s northern periphery and the surrounding Jewish and Arab communities. The goals of ARC and the meaning of partnership were themselves research questions investigated through ongoing action and reflection and are addressed in this chapter.
