Abstract

A time-resolved luminescence study of Cr³⁺ in topaz Al₂SiO₄(OH,F)₂ was presented. Presence of several luminescence centers, single Cr³⁺ in intermediate crystal field position, Cr-Cr pairs and radiation induced centers was demonstrated. The possible connection of the last center with Mn⁴⁺ and V²⁺ was discussed.
