Abstract

A time-resolved luminescence study of Cr3+ in topaz Al2SiO4(OH,F)2 was presented. Presence of several luminescence centers, single Cr3+ in intermediate crystal field position, Cr-Cr pairs and radiation induced centers was demonstrated. The possible connection of the last center with Mn4+ and V2+ was discussed.
