Abstract
The thionation of N-methyl- and N-phenylnaphthalimide derivatives by phosphorus pentasulfide was investigated. The mixtures of mono- and dithionaphthalimides were found to be formed regardless of reaction conditions. A content of mono- and dithioderivatives depends on amount of a thionating agent and the reaction time. The optimal procedures for synthesis of mono- and dithionaphthalimides were developed.
