N2 - The steady-state shape of the end-face of metal wire, which is electrodeposited in a template nanopore, is studied. The deviation of the end-face shape from a plane due to the edge effect is analyzed. The developed model takes into account the dependence of the metal electrodeposition rate on the surface curvature. The model involves a dimensionless parameter that governs the shape of nanowire end-face. The end-face shape is calculated for various values of this parameter. The numerical and approximate analytical solutions of the problem agree well.
