N2 - The process of self-organization in thin polycarbonate (PC) films was investigated. The self-organized mesoscopic and nanoscaled structures, which were obtained under fast dip-coating deposition of PC films on quartz glass substrates, were investigated using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The structure of the obtained films was depended on the kind of substrate. The self-assembled PC films deposited on the organic and nonorganic substrates offered photonic bandgap structures, including tunable photonic crystals.
