Abstract

We predict theoretically the effect of screening the quantum states (including entangled ones) of an optical field from interaction with a resonant perturbing subsystem by means of coupling with other field modes in the ground (vacuum) state. It is shown that an ensemble of resonators with fields in the vacuum state is able to screen the quantum state of a group of excited resonators from interaction with a resonant two-level atom. The degree of modification of the initial quantum state is inversely proportional to the number of “screening” modes unexcited at the initial moment of time.
