Quality estimates in hierarchical large-scale man-machine flexible manufacturing systems

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Large-scale man-machine machine flexible manufacturing system (FMS) are characterized nowadays by increasing both the systems' complexity and the number of their hierarchical levels as well as by various random disturbances which affect the systems' realization. Man-machine FMS are usually managed by decision-makers on different hierarchical levels. Decision-making is usually carried out on the basis of periodical systems' inspection in control points and is also characterized by a variety of optimization problems which are solved at control points in order to determine control actions to speed up the system's progress and to increase the system's reliability value.
