Abstract

Twenty-one patients with pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP) were reviewed. Direct immunoflourescence (DIF) examination was negative in all patients. DIF in patients with PUPPP is a useful and reliable laboratory aid in distinguishing this peculiar dermatosis from herpes gestationis.
