Abstract
An approach for infrared (IR) waveguides fabrication, based on the idea of resonant-grating waveguides, was discussed. Guided-mode resonances in planar dielectric layer systems were studied theoretically. It was shown that acousto-optical grating excited at the waveguide edges makes the waveguide sharp-resonant and scalable in the broad middle and far-IR region. It was theoretically demonstrated that conditions for resonant scattering of the propagating IR wave could be filled in such a core/clad system.
