Abstract

The instability of graphite nitrate is a main issue as to its extensive industrial use. Novel graphite nitrate compounds of higher stability were produced via cointercalation of carboxylic acids, ethers, esters and nitriles. Structural transformations on cointercalation and effect of hydrogen bonding on stabilization are discussed.
