Abstract

The decay kinetics of iodine bound excitons in AgBr:I cystals have been studied. Luminescence kinetics, quenching and changes in kinetics are observed to depend on the iodine concentration and the excitation intensity. These observation are discussed in terms of donor-donor and donor-acceptor interactions. The probabilities of energy migration via iodide ions and probability of luminescence quenching are estimated.
