Abstract
A rate of tungsten transition out of a slag to an iron-carbon melt during its reduction with carbon dissolved in iron has been estimated experimentally using two methods. With increased temperature of phase interaction and tungsten concentration in slag, the reduction rate has shown to be increased as well. Using the technique developed earlier, the new mathematical model of chemical processes occurring under the interaction of an iron-carbon melt with tungsten-bearing slag has been developed. The calculation results are in a satisfactory agreement with experimental data.
