Abstract
A concise examination of various aspects of Jewish history in modern times. Ch. 2 (pp. 28-46), "Emancipation, " shows, inter alia, the violent struggle of antisemites against Jewish emancipation and their attempts to rescind it in the late 19th and in the 20th centuries. Ch. 4 (pp. 76-103), "Anti-Semitism, " relates the ideological roots (Christian, racist, Social Darwinist, etc.) of antisemitism, as well as its manifestations, especially in Germany and Russia (later, the USSR) - antisemitic political parties, pogroms, the Holocaust, etc. Adds that the Arab-Israeli conflict has also fanned antisemitism in the Middle East.
