Abstract

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is the analysis of fluid flow, heat transfer and related phenomena, using advanced software and numerical techniques. CFD analysis is used extensively by engineers to analyze and predict the flow characteristics of fluids such as air, water and other liquids and gases. This is being done in a variety of industries including aerospace, automotive design, the biomedical industry, the chemical process industry, power generation systems and more. FLUIDEX developed by FLOW-SIM LTD, is a CFD simulation software enabling the prediction of fluid flow characteristics. Its main advantage as an educational tool is its structured format, guiding the user through all the necessary steps of CFD analysis, including pre-processing, automatic grid generation, solving and post processing. The FLUIDEX package is very simple and convenient tool for the use in a various courses in engineering and gives the student a good introduction to the CFD world.
