Abstract

Over the next five-ten years, the use of renewable electric sources such as solar photovoltaic (PV) would be dramatically climbed in Israel power industry. Similar tendencies exist in the entire industrial world get the trend to decline energy costs, improving electricity quality and sustainability of power supply [l]-[4]. Even so. Massive introduction of renewables sources, especially PV can cause deterioration energy supply quality. Presented work submits method for estimation maximum allowable level of PV power can be integrated into existing grid without damaging electricity quality that must meet the requirements of standards. Quality estimation was earned out by simulation approach based on simplified dynamic modeling of existing power plants and stochastic replication of PV output. Obtained results demonstrate restricted ability of PV power penetration into contemporary Israeli grid that limited today by -9-10%. It was shown that further spread of renewable sources could be provided by either the climbing of system inertia or through introduction of electrical storage having adequate capacitance and able to react on quick power deviances.
