Abstract

Using experimental and computational methods, the effect of metallic and oxide phases on the equilibrium distribution of tungsten between the carbon-containing metal and molten slag is investigated at 1773-1873 K. It is shown that the concentrations of iron oxide in the slag and carbon in the metal have substantial effects on the equilibrium distribution of tungsten.
