Abstract
In the mid-2000s, the Israel Mapping Center (SOI) made a strategic decision regarding the implementation of a Coordinate-Based Cadastre (CBC) as a lever to speed up registration procedures in the State of Israel. This initiative is part of the answer that SOI intends to provide to the ever-increasing demands for the rapid registration of rights in real estate. Since 2008, SOI has followed a consistent and systematic policy of the practical promotion of CBC. The realization of this policy is manifested through the initiation of large-scale projects that require a lot of human and financial resources. These projects are characterized by professional and logistical complexity. During their implementation, SOI gained valuable experience and drew conclusions based on the analysis of the results. SOI was prepared to carry out the implementation process of the CBC, including steps in the technological field and administrative preparation. The purpose of the article is to review the status of the Cadastre implementation in the State of Israel; short-term plans and long-term planning. The article describes the mutual effects between the Cadastre and the traditional cadastre processes, and discusses the new "rules of the game" in the field of cadastre in the CBC era.
