Abstract
Kinetic laws for the oxidation of tungsten are investigated at the interface between metallic tungsten and tungsten oxide in melts at 1550-1650°C. It is shown that the stage limiting the electrochemical oxidation of tungsten is one of the chemical reactions succeeding the electrode stage and takes place in a thin layer of the molten oxide.
