Abstract
Absorption of electron cyclotron waves in a tokamak during vertical launch (along a line tangent to the gyroresonance layer) of microwave radiation is considered. It is shown that, when the geometrical-optics reflection point lies on the boundary of the cyclotron-resonance absorption region, dissipation of the incident power is weak at any geometrical parameters of the device.
