Abstract

Methyl radicals react with Pt ⁰-NPs suspended in aqueous solutions in fast reactions. The major product is stable methyl coated Pt ⁰-NPs, (Pt ⁰-NPs)-(CH ₃) _n. C ₂H ₆, C ₂H ₄ and some polymerization products are also formed (see scheme).
