Abstract
A case of cholestatic jaundice after cloxacillin treatment is presented. Hepatotoxicity due to the drug was confirmed by inadvertent rechallenge and strongly positive tests for macrophage migration inhibitory factor and mast cell degranulation. The recognition of cholestatic hepatotoxidty due to oxacillin derivatives should help to avoid unnecessary invasive procedures in the evaluation of this reversible condition.
