My research focuses on the initiation and development of adult close relationships. Specifically, I am interested in the involvemnet of responsive nonverbal cues in the development of intimacy, trust, and secure attachment bonds between dyad members (e.g., romantic couples, close friendships, partnerships) and the ways in which emerging relationships deepen from initial liking and attraction processes into interdependent close relationships. My current research employs longitudinal, diary, and observational methodologies to examine the dynamics and mechanisms underlying developmental processes within close relationships. My aim is to integrate empirical findings and theoretical understanding about relationship dynamics with my clinical experience, in order to promote dyadic well-being, stability, and growth.
