ملخص

The recording from the auditory nerve and brain stem of electrical potentials in response to chick stimuli can serve as routine procedure in infants and children in whom behavioral audiometry is unreliable or not feasible. The method of recording described by Sohmer and Feinmesser is simple, nontraumatic and does not require general anesthesia. Case histories of four children are summarized to exemplify the vital importance of this test in selected patients. The information obtained is not limited to the auditory status alone, but also pertains to the neurological system as well.
