ملخص

An investigation was made of the anodic polarization of a molten iron-carbon-aluminium alloy in an oxide melt containing 43% CaO, 51% Al//2O//3, and MgO at 1350-1550 degree C and the relationships between current density and polarization were obtained. The concentration nature of polarization was noted. The observed polarization refers mainly to the process left bracket Al right bracket -3e yields (Al**3** minus ) and is caused by the retarded diffusion of aluminium in the metal phase. An increase in the carbon content of the iron-carbon-aluminium melt increases the maximum current. This is evidently associated with an increase in the equilibrium concentration of aluminium in the metal. The activation energy of the process was determined and an empirical equation for calculating the maximum current was deduced for different temperatures and concentrations of aluminium in the melt.
