Israel’s Strategic Alternatives for the Day after the October 2023 War Policy study

The purpose of this document is to examine the implications of several strategic alternatives for an end to the Israeli military campaign. The document addresses domestic aspects as well as insights into foreign affairs and is based on analyses of foreign and security policies as expressed in leaders’ speeches in the public media and secondary literature on the strategies of the countries involved. The document proposes and analyzes four strategic alternatives, considering two parameters for each: the impact on Israel’s national resilience and the impact on the policy of regional actors. The alternatives were developed on the premise that the goal of whatever alternative is chosen is to maximize Israeli interests.
