N2 - We report a rare case of intramuscular hydatid cyst in a boy who presented clinically as having a soft-tissue thigh mass. A high level of awareness concerning the occurrence of these cysts is important, especially in regions where Echinococcus is endemic. Surgical treatment follows the principles of malignant tumour, namely, wide surgical resection.
