ملخص

The radical ·CH₂CO₂^- reacts with Cu²⁺ (aq) forming an unstable intermediate with a specific rate of (6·4 ± 1·5) × 10⁸ 1 mol^-1 s^-1; the intermediate, Cu-CH₂CO₂⁺, decomposes via a first-order process with k 2·8 ± 0·3 s^-1.
